NEW RELEASE ANOUNCEMENT
DESCRIPTION:
Album: HIPHOPOLY
Artist: IMPERATOR
Label: BY ANY MEANS MUSIC
Release: 2001
Executive Producer: STEVEN LAWS
“HIPHOPOLY” is Imp's follow up album to "Evolution of a Man". Stand out tracks include Hiphopoly, Summer of B.A.M.M., and I Luv U Girl. The album was recorded and mixed at "B.A.M.M" in Palmdale, California Producers include Clockwise, Big Flossy, and Password.
Track one "Fuc Wha Cha Heard" is a response to all the negative comments about the “Project Blowed”. "I have one thing to say about the Project Blowed they racist" was said by Eminem according to website articles. Imp won one round out of two in a battle against Eminem at the Rap Olympics.
Track two "HIPHOPOLY" momentarily targets Ice Cube, apparently Imp didn't take kindly to "If it wasn't for me where the fuck would you be, rhyming somewhere like the Treacherous Three".
REVIEWS
“Hiphopoly” is Imperator's second album and a worthy successor. The title track backed by an incredible tight beat refers to Eminem's absurd reproach that the “Project Blowed” is the home of racists.
Imperator already had let shine through his old school roots in former tracks. In “Worldwide” he shows that the old flows are still lethal, the point (punch line?) is that he uses the styles of the past to acclaim the technology of the present, the worldwide web which gave a fresh impulse to the underground.
"Summer of BAMM" is the introduction to a motivated indie label, for “Everybody” Imperator put out again the old school rhymes; in “Another Murda” and “She” one finds storytelling.
Secret Garden and I Luv U Girl (a declaration of Love to our Lady Hip Hop” are rather convincing. -
